President’s Message June 2019
Hi Everyone!
Peninsula members are out practicing their dressage on these beautiful summer days on Delmarva! We are busy preparing for our next show on July 13 at WinAway Farm in Willards, Md. Aviva Nebesky “L”, who is back by popular demand, will be our judge for this show! The closing date for the show is July 3, so get those entries to our manager-Jen Pino. If you missed getting the entry please let me know, and I will send one to you.
Jen will be needing volunteers, so if you can get some hours in scribing, scoring, running or as ring stewards please let either Jen or myself know. We will have our next meeting on Thursday July 11, at Buffalo Wild Wings in Salisbury. This is by the Walmart north on Rt. 13 and will be at 6 PM. The ring at Diane's has already been set up, so we are just having a business meeting that night.
For August, we are planning our annual picnic, and a tack/apparel exchange! Details of both and the date to be confirmed at the July meeting. See you all soon and enjoy these nice long days!

Peninsula Dressage Meeting Minutes
6-7-19 AT RENSAISSANCE STABLE, SALISBURY MD, SEVEN PRESENT
Unfortunately, the show on 6-8-19 was cancelled due to illness of the judge. We did go forward with setting up the show ring so people could still bring their horses and have a time to school away from home in a show setting.
Our next meeting will be the 2nd Thursday of the month 7-11-19 at 6pm at Buffalo Wild Wings in Salisbury MD.
Peninsula Dressage Chapter of PVDA
The July show is on 7-13-19 at WinaAway Farm in Willards MD. The judge is Aviva Nebesky and the show manager is Jen Pino. Entry forms should be out by email shortly. Jen will need volunteers - a scribe, scorers and runners. Come on out and get your volunteer hours. The show ring is already set up and WinAway Farm will run the food booth.
For year-end awards, you still need five scores from three shows (3 judges) and a minimum 10 volunteer hours. This applies to the Open division as well as to Peninsula. Open division scores are due to Allison Turner by November 1.
There was discussion about our annual August picnic. No date or location yet. However, we may be able to incorporate a tack/riding apparel exchange with the picnic. We also discussed finding a clinician to come in the fall. Jenny says she will talk with Aviva. Kim will speak with Kathy Rowse for some dates in 2020. We are looking for a new show manager (and possible venue) for the June show in 2020. Jenny’s work schedule does not allow her to manage this show any longer. We could still use Renaissance Stable as the venue, if someone else was willing to manage the show.
We have approximately $706 in the treasury.
Respectfully submitted. Amie Blackwell
Year-end Award Qualification Rules
To qualify for a Peninsula Dressage year-end award (Peninsula Division or Open Division), you must first be a member of Peninsula Dressage and PVDA, and give 10 hours of volunteer time to Peninsula during the year. Your top five scores at the same level from three shows and three judges will be used to calculate your final average for your level, except for Sport Horse and Second Level & Up, which only require three scores from three shows and three judges. For the Peninsula Division you may use only Peninsula schooling shows (including Women Supporting Women), and for the Open Division you may use any dressage shows (schooling or recognized) except Peninsula schooling shows. You may use scores from the Women Supporting Women show for either division. Peninsula Division scores will be calculated for you, but you must submit Open Division scores yourself by the first week in November to qualify for the Open Division. If you have any questions, please contact Allison at twostars8688@gmail.com, or 410-726-8199.
