Good Afternoon, With the USEF suspension being extended through May 3, 2020 and PVDA cancelling all shows within this time frame, we must follow these guidelines. Peninsula Dressage will cancel the April 18th Ride A Test and May 2nd schooling show. Please check the Peninsula Dressage website and emails for more updates as the COVID-19 situation progresses. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy! Best Regards, Peninsula Dressage Officers

Hi Everyone, It’s time to start thinking pink and about raising funds for our 11th Annual WSW Show on Saturday October 5th! Please forward the information below and attached flyer to any horse email lists you may have, any horse related businesses you know, as well as friends, business associates, family members, and anyone who you think may be interested in supporting our show. The show entries will be available at our September 7th show at the Equestrian Center, and emailed to Peninsula Dressage Club members the second week of September. Please contact me if you have any questions, and thanks in advance for helping to support the show! It's hard to believe in the midst of all this summer heat and humidity that our Fall Women Supporting Women Show is just around the corner! On Saturday, October 5th, 2019, at WinAway Farm in Willards MD, Peninsula Dressage will be sponsoring the Eleventh Annual "Women Supporting Women" Dressage Show to benefit our local Eastern Shore breast cancer information & support agency. We're asking everyone's support for this very important cause by sponsoring or donating to our benefit show. All proceeds earned at the show will be donated to Women Supporting Women. There are many different options available for sponsoring this very special show. You can be listed as a "Prix St. George" sponsor for a minimum donation of $25; for donations of $26 to $100, you will be listed as an "Intermediare" sponsor, and for any donations over $100 you will be listed as a "Gran Prix Sponsor" which includes a business card ad (monetary donations only for business card ad) in our Club Newsletter. All levels of donations received by Monday September 30th, will be listed on the "Sponsor Thank-you List" which every competitor receives in their rider packet. All donor names and their level of sponsorship will also be listed in both the Peninsula Dressage and Women Supporting Women Newsletters. This is a wonderful way to get your name out to many riders & spectators in the community as well as to support a worthy cause. There will be a prize for the individual who raises the most money. We've all helped to build this show up over the years, and as always, we hope to beat last year's donation of $4.000 and have fun doing it! Please make your tax deductible checks out to Women Supporting Women, and mail to: Amy Schine, 24965 Rivermere Drive, Eden, MD 21822. For more information about donations, please contact Amy Schine: amys@geried.com/410-430-8267. Thank you again for your support of women on the Eastern Shore coping with breast cancer. We can all make a difference! *Please note that the show entry forms will be available at our September 7th show at the Wicomico Equestrian Center, and emailed out to Peninsula Dressage members the second week in September; Jenny Mlyniec is the show manager: odeon_tamuro@yahoo.com Hi Everyone, It’s time to start thinking pink and about raising funds for our 11th Annual WSW Show on Saturday October 5th! Hey Everyone! Bobbi Mozingo will be at the picnic this month. She does an amazing job cleaning and restoring leather. Bring all that dusty, moldy, and green tack for her to clean. She will also have her tack conditioning lotion samples with her. Since, I am not on FB.... would someone please share this post on the group page?

President’s Message: July 2019 Peninsula Dressage Chapter held its July show at WinAway Farm in Willards, MD. We had a big turnout for the show with over 60 rides. Mike and Diane Bloxham are always wonderful hosts and had the farm looking fantastic! They did some revamping of the ring, which turned out great! Jen Pino managed the show and did a super job organizing such a large show. It went off without a hitch! Our judge, Aviva Nebesky “L”, gave excellent feedback to all the riders. She tirelessly kept her positivity to the very end of a very long day! This is what we always appreciate about her! Thanks to Jen, the Bloxhams, and all the volunteers who made the show such a success. Thanks to all the competitors who came out to compete, great to see everyone and some new faces, too! Our next event is the annual family picnic, combined with a tack exchange/flea market. We will be holding this event at Horse Bridge Farm on Sunday, August 18. Everyone is welcome to bring items for the flea market, which will be set up in the arena. There is no charge for this! Please bring your own table. Set up will be from 1PM on and we will start the picnic at 2PM. This is open to members and non-members! Everyone who wants to take part in the picnic will need to bring a dish. So invite any of your horsey friends out, all are welcome to bring stuff for the tack exchange. The club will be providing chicken, and please email me with the dish you are bringing for the picnic. That way we do not have 30 desserts! We will need someone to bring paper products and drinks. Also, bring a folding chair. We are all looking forward to a more relaxing month before we get into our September and October shows. Hope to see everyone in August! Kim Briele Peninsula Dressage Meeting Minutes 7-11-19 FOLLOWING DINNER AT BUFFALO WILD WINGS TWELVE MEMBERS/GUESTS PRESENT Our July show is this Saturday July 13 at WinAway Farm in Willards, MD. The judge is Aviva Nebesky and the show manager is Jen Pino. There are 65 rides scheduled. Ride Peninsula Dressage Chapter of PVDA times came out this morning. We still need volunteers. Be sure to start getting in your volunteer hours for year-end awards. It will be noted in upcoming show entry forms that no out of date tests may be ridden at schooling shows. Also, anyone riding Western Dressage please note these should be the USEF tests. Our annual family picnic will be held Sunday August 18 at Kim Briele’s farm under the trees at 2pm. Bring a potluck side dish or dessert to share. The club will provide fried chicken. Please coordinate your potluck dish with Kim. During the picnic, we will also have a tack/apparel exchange in Kim’s indoor- please bring your own table to display what you would like to sell/trade. We have tentatively scheduled a clinic with Aviva Nebesky for Saturday Sept 14. Clinic rides may be scheduled with Jenny Mlyniec and are $85. There will be no meeting on August 1, 2019. A short business meeting will be held on the day of the picnic. Respectfully submitted, Amie Blackwell Year-end Award Qualification Rules To qualify for a Peninsula Dressage year-end award (Peninsula Division or Open Division), you must first be a member of Peninsula Dressage and PVDA, and give 10 hours of volunteer time to Peninsula during the year. Your top five scores at the same level from three shows and three judges will be used to calculate your final average for your level, except for Sport Horse and Second Level & Up, which only require three scores from three shows and three judges. For the Peninsula Division you may use only Peninsula schooling shows (including Women Supporting Women), and for the Open Division you may use any dressage shows (schooling or recognized) except Peninsula schooling shows. You may use scores from the Women Supporting Women show for either division. Peninsula Division scores will be calculated for you, but you must submit Open Division scores yourself by the first week in November to qualify for the Open Division. If you have any questions, please contact Allison at twostars8688@gmail.com, or 410-726-8199.

Hey all, Several people have expressed interest in ordering more logo shirts, so here are your options if you'd like to order. As you go to each link, you'll need to scroll down to see all available colors for each shirt (there are a lot!). As you make your color choices for each, keep in mind that black ink does not show well on dark colors. We'll need a minimum of 12 pieces (mix and match) to place an order, and if we get 24 pieces or more, the price goes down for each. I'll send an email tomorrow to the printing company to confirm current prices and color availability, but usually the colors on these links are all available. Just to give you an idea, last time prices were roughly $12 for SS Ts, $17 for LS Ts, $20 for crewnecks, $28 for hoodies, and $22 for the ladies' polo. I don't expect them to be more than a couple dollars' difference now. Send me your name, items you want, size and color for each that you'd like to order, and I'll place the order probably the 1st week of August. That should give everyone enough time to decide what they want. Keep in mind pink for our October show! Thanks! Also, we still have two white men's sizing polos with small pink Peninsula logo on the left front, and a pink ribbon on the right sleeve. They're both XL, and generously sized. They are $15 each if anyone would like one or both. President’s Message June 2019 Hi Everyone! Peninsula members are out practicing their dressage on these beautiful summer days on Delmarva! We are busy preparing for our next show on July 13 at WinAway Farm in Willards, Md. Aviva Nebesky “L”, who is back by popular demand, will be our judge for this show! The closing date for the show is July 3, so get those entries to our manager-Jen Pino. If you missed getting the entry please let me know, and I will send one to you. Jen will be needing volunteers, so if you can get some hours in scribing, scoring, running or as ring stewards please let either Jen or myself know. We will have our next meeting on Thursday July 11, at Buffalo Wild Wings in Salisbury. This is by the Walmart north on Rt. 13 and will be at 6 PM. The ring at Diane's has already been set up, so we are just having a business meeting that night. For August, we are planning our annual picnic, and a tack/apparel exchange! Details of both and the date to be confirmed at the July meeting. See you all soon and enjoy these nice long days! Kim Briele Peninsula Dressage Meeting Minutes 6-7-19 AT RENSAISSANCE STABLE, SALISBURY MD, SEVEN PRESENT Unfortunately, the show on 6-8-19 was cancelled due to illness of the judge. We did go forward with setting up the show ring so people could still bring their horses and have a time to school away from home in a show setting. Our next meeting will be the 2nd Thursday of the month 7-11-19 at 6pm at Buffalo Wild Wings in Salisbury MD. Peninsula Dressage Chapter of PVDA The July show is on 7-13-19 at WinaAway Farm in Willards MD. The judge is Aviva Nebesky and the show manager is Jen Pino. Entry forms should be out by email shortly. Jen will need volunteers - a scribe, scorers and runners. Come on out and get your volunteer hours. The show ring is already set up and WinAway Farm will run the food booth. For year-end awards, you still need five scores from three shows (3 judges) and a minimum 10 volunteer hours. This applies to the Open division as well as to Peninsula. Open division scores are due to Allison Turner by November 1. There was discussion about our annual August picnic. No date or location yet. However, we may be able to incorporate a tack/riding apparel exchange with the picnic. We also discussed finding a clinician to come in the fall. Jenny says she will talk with Aviva. Kim will speak with Kathy Rowse for some dates in 2020. We are looking for a new show manager (and possible venue) for the June show in 2020. Jenny’s work schedule does not allow her to manage this show any longer. We could still use Renaissance Stable as the venue, if someone else was willing to manage the show. We have approximately $706 in the treasury. Respectfully submitted. President’s Message: May 2019 Peninsula Dressage members held the first show of the year on May 4, 2019 at Wicomico Equestrian Center in Salisbury. We had a great turnout for our first show, and the horses were all looking wonderful with their beautiful spring coats! We welcomed our judge - Janice Conlon “R” for her first time judging for us. President’s Message: April 2019 Spring is in the air! Peninsula members are all out enjoying their horses and gearing up for show season! Start of the preparation was our April meeting, the topic being “Geometry of the new tests”. The meeting was held at Horse Bridge Farm in the outside standard size ring. We measured circles with a lunge line, and showed the proper placement form serpentines and other movements. Members brought their tests and we looked at the exact geometry in some of the tests. The business meeting followed with snacks-please read the minutes for the details. Our annual “Ride-A-Test” clinic is this Saturday at Cat Dorcak's Big Red Farm. Cat has been busy preparing her ring and organizing the entries. We are looking forward to a great day! The May 4 show at WEC is coming up quickly. Brenda Burkett is managing and taking entries. We have sent out the entry form in emails, and on the website. If you email us your entry, you will still need to mail us the check. The website is not quite ready to receive payments. We need the check to hold your spot in the schedule. You can still mail everything in, if you choose. We are encouraging everyone to send your copies of your membership cards with the entries, for: WEC and PVDA. You are welcome to pay the nonmember fees, if you choose not to join. Peninsula will need a copy of the current Coggins, which we keep in our file for the year, and on the website file. Peninsula Dressage is very pleased to have Janice Conlon “R” judge for us at this show! We are hoping for a great turnout! Keep an eye out for the closing date-it is coming up quickly! If you decide not to ride, please consider volunteering. We will need scorers, scribes, runners, and a ready ring. This would be a great time to scribe and get that great learning experience from Janice! Enjoy these nice warm days and we hope to see everyone soon!
